Lois Larrieu offre un premier succès international au team CLS

 

En dominant la première des deux épreuves françaises du Championnat d’Europe MX2, Loïc Larrieu a offert au team CLS son premier succès international depuis la création de la structure. Un succès qui en appelle d’autres, Loïc ayant dominé ses adversaires tout au long du week-end.

Malchanceux en Espagne ou un incident de course l’obligea à abandonner en seconde manche, Loïc s’est magnifiquement repris à Castelnau de Lévis ou il a réussi le week-end parfait en s’imposant dans les deux manches du jour.

Samedi le circuit était assez gras suite aux pluies de la semaine, et après avoir pris ses marques dans les séances libres ou il signait le neuvième puis le quatrième temps, Loïc passait à l’attaque dans la séance chronométrée ou il signait rapidement le meilleur temps avant que la pluie ne vienne perturber les choses. Le soleil était rapidement de retour, et c’est sous un beau ciel bleu que les courses allaient se disputer dimanche.

Au premier départ Loïc était le plus prompt à s’élancer et rapidement il s’appliquait à creuser l’écart avec ses poursuivants jusqu’à ce qu’une petite chute lui fasse perdre son avantage. Repartant juste devant le Suisse Tonus, il devait tout reprendre à zéro mais sans se démunir Loïc reprenait une bonne cadence et s’échappait à nouveau en tête de la course pour compter une quinzaine de secondes d’avance sur ses rivaux. La victoire était en vue quand il chutait à deux tours de l’arrivée, cassant son frein avant et repartant avec seulement trois secondes d’avance sur Loïc Rombaut! Il contiendra jusqu’au bout son compatriote, signant un beau succès avec le record du tour à la clé.

Sa seconde manche fut plus limpide, puisque après un nouveau départ en tête Loïc fera la course parfaite sans commettre la moindre erreur. Imprimant une cadence élevée à la course il creusera l’écart avec ses poursuivants, géant ensuite son avance pour s’imposer brillamment à trois de ses compatriotes ! Net vainqueur de l’épreuve, Loïc revient à la troisième place du championnat ou il ne compte plus que neuf points de retard sur le leader.

 

Loic Larrieu: ‘ Tout s’est bien passé ce week-end, de la pôle position aux essais aux deux victoires en passant par deux départs en tête. J’ai fait deux erreurs en première manche, mais rien de grave puisque j’ai gagné quand même. Ma première chute a été provoquée par le cale pied qui s’est planté dans la terre dans un virage, la seconde fut plus violente puisque en voulant éviter un attardé je suis passé de travers dans un trou. J’ai réussi à repartir sans caler le moteur, les derniers tours furent compliqués puisque mon frein avant avait cassé dans la chute mais j’ai pu contenir Rombaut. Je fais une bonne opération au championnat puisque je reviens à neuf points du leader, c’est un bon week-end et je veux remercier tous les gens qui m’aident aujourd’hui, à commencer par Kawasaki et le team CLS ’

  

Jean Jacques Luisetti : ‘ Après la frustration du week-end dernier ou tant Steven aux Pays Bas que Loic en Espagne n’avaient pas obtenu les résultats mérités du fait de la mécanique ou d’un incident de course, ce succès fait du bien au moral ! Loïc a réussi un week-end parfait qui en appelle d’autres, car malgré son jeune âge il s’est comporté comme un vieux briscard. Le championnat est très long, mais Loïc confirme avoir son mot à dire pour le titre et il a prouvé ce week-end faire partie du petit groupe de favoris’

 

Thierry Chizat Suzzoni : ‘ Ce fut un week-end parfait, Loic a confirmé que c’était un garçon solide sur qui on pouvait compter. Il a bien géré les séances d’essais, a pris d’excellents départs et sans ces deux petites chutes en première manche c’était le week-end parfait. Il a prouvé après ces chutes qu’il maîtrisait bien la situation puisqu’il est reparti sans s’affoler, et le voilà revenu dans le groupe de tête du championnat. Il a une fois encore fait preuve de beaucoup de professionnalisme, et il dispose vraiment d’une belle marge de progression pour l’avenir’

Loic Larrieu offered the first International win to the team CLS

 

Winner this weekend of the MX2 European Championship round in Castelnau de Lévis (France), Loic Larrieu offered to the team CLS his first International win since the creation of the French squad. It was a perfect event for Loic, who dominate the qualifying session and then won both races.

Unlucky in Spain one week earlier as a race indicent forced him to retire during the second heat, Loic took his revenge in Castelnau de Lévis. On Saturday the track was slippery after a rainy week, and Loic improved his results during the afternoon; ninth and then fourth of the free practice sessions, he claimed the pole position during the timed practice period when he posted the fastest lap during the first ten minutes.

Sunday the weather was perfect for the races, and Loic got the holeshot in the opening race. He posted some fast laps to increase the gap with his rivals, but crashed during the third circulation and lost his advantage over Swiss Tonus. He pushed again to rebuilt his advantage, and was fifteen seconds ahead of his rivals when he did a mistake only two laps before the end of the race! He damaged his front brake in the crash, but was able to contain the assaults of Loic Rombaut until the finish flag. His second race was better, as he grabbed another holeshot and didn’t do any mistake to win easily this heat. Once more he posted some fast laps in the first part of the race, and then controled his rivals to win his first ever European round. He is now third un the standings, only nine points behind the series leader.

Loic Larrieu: ‘ Everything went perfectly this weekend, at first with the pole position and then with two holeshots and two heat wins. I did two mistakes in the first race, but despite these errors I was able to win. I crashed after two laps when my foot peg went into the ground, and then later when I changed my line to avoid a lapper. There was a big bump and I was lucky not to stall the engine in the crash, but the front brake was destroyed. It’s a great day for my championship, I’m back only nine points behind the leader and I want to thanks all my partners, especially Kawasaki and team CLS’

  

Jean Jacques Luisetti : ‘ We had a frustrating weekend seven days ago when Steven in the Netherlands and Loic in Spain didn’t got the results they deserved due to technical troubles or race incidents, and this win is great for everybody in the team. Loic had a perfect weekend and I’m sure that there will be some others, he proved today that he is one of the strongest riders of this championship’

  

Thierry Chizat Suzzoni : ‘ It was a great weekend for Loic, who confirmed how strong he is. If we except two mistakes in the first heat he did a perfect race, and despite these crashes he had the races under control and was able to win. He is now back with the leading group of the series, and we are comfident for his future’
