The contacts between team CLS and the Maas family were funded by the new Technisical Chief Harry Nolte. This professional mechanic is the new responsible for the technical part of the CLS team, and is there to make the kawasaki’s the best on every circuit. After a chat on a Dutch Championship race Harry explained his new deal with CLS. Afterwards it was clear that there would be space for a third rider in the team.

After a meeting with teammanager Jean-Jacques Luisetti in Marseille Wesley came to a agreement for the 2010 season.

Team CLS gets rewarded for professionalism:

Team CLS Kawasaki will get exclusive backup from Monster Energy and Pro Circuit in 2010. It’s the first time these two American company’s invest in a European Motocrossteam. Knowing that Pro Circuit and there Motocross team won a championship every year since there start in the 90’s, says something about their quality and status. Harry and Wesley will create the best possible setting for Wesley.

Advantages for Wesley with this agreement with team CLS:

More focus on progression with a professional group of people around.

The best parts for optimal bikes

More riding hours because of unlimited parts supply.

More variation in the circuits because of international training facilities.

More know-how on every motocross related situation for the best preparation.

Better appearance because of the professional team look.

More press attention based on results and Wesley being and international athlete.

Changes and advantages for Wesley’s personal sponsors:

Team CLS is a young and professional team, with a ‘’cool en enthusiastic’’ appearance, which demands everyone’s attention.

Improving results will get attention in the media and press in The Netherlands and the rest of Europe.

Network circle of managers who meet in a Mobile Grand Cafe facility at the races.

Regional fame, together with Wesley’s positive and sporting appearance which can come together with marketing activities in every company.

Advertisement possibility on our mobile home.

Advertisement in our press releases and race reports, and in action movies shot during the season which have international reach.

Logo’s on casual team clothing, which is worn daily.

Schedule in pre-season:

2010 will start in the deep sand for Wesley in January. He will be practicing together with Steven Frossard (F) and Jeremy van Horebeek (B) on endurance and speed. Kees van der Ven (former world championship contender, and 4 times winner of the prestigious beach race Le Touquet) will follow the team’s progress, and will advice where possible.

Jeremy and Steven are both capable of taking chances for the World Title MX2 in 2010! As a fourth rider for the team there is Germain Vincenot. Germain will compete in the 125cc class on a 2 stroke bike on 7 GP events in separate championship.

After setting the pace Wesley will head for Portugal at the end of January to practice on the hard-pack tracks out there. Wesley will both ride the KXF 250 and 450 on tracks selected by Kees. They will work on endurance, riding style and jumping.

In week 7, Wesley will head for Marseille to join the complete team CLS. Kawasaki will make a promotional movie there for press and other media together with all the factory supported teams. There will be some riding, interviews and pictures.

All pictures will input for the Kawasaki Motocross Press kit 2010. This book will be supplied to all the Kawasaki dealers in Europa, and is a cool give a way for all sponsors and interested partners.

After the French adventure there will be the last preparations for Wesley’s first Dutch Championship race in Mill on the 14th of March. Together with Jeremy he’ll represent Team CLS in the MX2 and MX1 class in the Netherlands.

Wesley will have the chance to ride the GP’s after the summerbreak. Lommel and Lierop are both sandy tracks on which Wesley is best. Participating in the GP’s will depend on Wesley’s progress and results in the Dutch Championship. It would be cool for Wesley to be the first rider from our region (Limburg) to compete in the GP’s since Dave Strijbos in the 80’s and 90’s.

With support of company’s and the people Wesley can work with in the team, participating in GP’s would be a beautiful challenge and opportunity!
